Swedwood Illusion

Earlier this year when I was out for a walk I noticed that the entrance signs for my old workplace could line up in interesting ways when you placed yourself at specific vantage points. At the time I only had a compact camera with me, as well as it being late at night, so the picture ended up quite grainy. Still, I wanted to share that sometime.

Recently I took a walk with a better camera during daytime and snapped a few new pictures. It was kind of stressed as I at a few points stood in the middle of intersections to get the right angle, but it will have to do :) The pictures are in sets of two, one with the forced perspective shot, the other a close up showing a normal perspective.

To not directly spoil the illusion the actual scenes are revealed in these pictures, provided as links. First, second.

This was done quite quick and dirty, I didn’t have enough zoom to retain image quality, I didn’t bring a tripod and as my GF1 does not have a viewfinder I had real problems just trying to review my pictures out in the field. Even then, I’m fairly happy with the end result.
