Drawing Methods
This is a collection of drawing methods I use when working in three point perspective. I wanted to have them documented for my own sake and figured I could just as well publish everything as guides right here on the blog!
Most of the guides are things I have figured out by myself because I did not find any help and I wanted to get things done. Some of them are based upon the little information I actually have found, but so far that amount has not been substantial. This is the major reason why I make my findings available publicly; to help people who are looking for the same kind of information I was trying to find!
Disclaimer: If I say I came up with a method myself while it is documented elsewhere I probably just reinvented the wheel! I do not try to steal credit for anything!
The main concept behind these methods is that they only require you to draw reference lines while not doing any measuring. As I use these methods while drawing in perspective the horizontal and vertical lines originate from the perspective points; which means they are treated just like any other reference line that is drawn with the help of two points but one of the points is a vanishing point.
These methods are displayed on a flat surface but are meant to be useful when drawing in perspective. I employ them in three point perspective, but I see no reason why they would not work in one or two point perspective. The only difference is that you get no reference points for the horizontal and/or the vertical lines.
