Impossible Figure: Arrow

I am writing this comment in February, this is because I had so many finished pieces I wanted to post that I am still sitting her scheduling them. This will be posted in August, which is after both the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive will have launched and shipped, maybe even the Playstation VR and Oculus Touch. These are virtual reality systems I’m very much looking forward too and has followed for multiple years, and this comment from the past might seem out of place as I probably have posted something about this already. See it as a time capsule of sorts. In any case, why do I mention this? Because the below illusion is the perspective version of the logo I made for Road to VR, a site reporting on everything virtual reality.

And a fine logo it is! Back when I talked with Andreas about making the logo, I was attracted to the idea of an impossible shape because it’s something that’s impossible in the real world, but could existing in virtual reality. Among many impossible shapes that Andreas has done, one encompassing the shape of an arrow within it seemed fit for a publication dedicated to a growing industry with huge potential. Thanks again Andreas!

  2. Cheers Ben :) Crazy that we’re now on the other side of day zero of VR, or modern VR, as it were. Time sure flies, glad R2VR still sports the arrow ;)
